Business Intelligence. Really?

After my Take Action Tuesday “Make Changes” post I decided to keep the daily actionable items going.

I continued with my health and wellness actions by eating right and working out and then running two miles. Great way to start the day. That takes care of the body part.

Now for the mind!

I am always trying to learn new things and since I work in IT I get that opportunity more than most. Since I wanted to accomplish a few things I thought what better way to get it done than incorporate it into my work life.

I am currently leading a strategic, long term project which involves Oracle SOA Suite and eventually OBIEE which is Oracle’s Business Intelligence tool. Since I am ramping up on the tool, architecture, and strategies related to BI I thought this would be the perfect fit. Taking action today.

To get started I am going to work on internal sites, projects, and an external website I can post all my thoughts, ideas, and experiences related to setting up an enterprise analytics tool and project. I am such a dweeb… does anyone use that term anymore – it is way more politically correct to say geek which is supposed to sound better and has some trumped up perceptions. I call it like it is… dweeb.

Dweebi.com is born

Thus the new Business Intelligence(BI) site is going to be dweebi.com. Dweeb wasn’t available of course, but I like the fact it has BI at the end since it is all about BI. Go check it out – might be a day or so before it is showing up with an actual site, but since it is going to be on WordPress it will be pretty quick getting started.

If you have some big data or BI type data you want analyzed or you want to discuss just reach out – looking for interesting stuff to learn with and you never know, maybe we can create some business intelligence together :)

See you tomorrow.

That is a great way to make work fun. Only a Dweeb would think of that ;)

I really need to be using my acronym powers for evil ;)
